Port to Port MTB stage race takes place over four days in New South Wales, riding trails in Awaba MTB Park, Hunter Valley and Glenrock. Designed to be fun and challenging for riders of all levels.
Safari Quads offer an exciting and popular service on the outskirts of Reykjavik catering to all whether a large group or as a single wanting to join others. Tours operate from a few hours to multiple days and I have had fun on two of these, one in winter on a custom tour with a colleague and another in summer joining a group for their full day drive and lava tube exploring.
Safari wanted me to photograph a full day tour capturing all aspects from introduction, various locations taking in the geothermal area behind Reykjavik, open landscapes to the south then into the lava tubes to explore the unique formations. A large group of friends were the perfect candidates to photograph as were familiar with each other and I could capture genuine fun and excitement they were having.
Tour guides were very helpful and allowed me time to drive ahead to get some shots when needed, recommending what was coming up so I could be ready when the group crossed creeks or went thru lava rock fields.
Strapping my DJI Phantom 4 Pro case to the back of the quad I was ready to shoot some aerial drone images showing off the larger landscapes and the line of people on quads going through it.
Working with the group on the tour was a lot of fun as I could have a laugh with them and try some unique shots like everyone standing on the front of their quad all in a line. They all chipped in to help me photograph someone in the lava tubes using their head lights to light up the tube walls and the face of their friend in what was an otherwise completely dark environment.
